Luxara was engineered for people who want the freedom of a real pool, the warmth and intimacy of a spa, and a more direct path to installation. These answers explain how the Architectural Spa Pool works, what is included, what a project involves, and what to expect as an owner.
It is a complete, factory-finished pool that can be a cool pool, a comfortable swimming pool and a hot spa — without being built on site.
Luxara has the open water, useful depth, flat floor and pool-scale circulation of a real pool. It can be actively cooled for summer, held at a comfortable swimming temperature, or brought to hot-spa temperature for a long soak. Perimeter seating, twelve massage jets and an optional swim current round out the experience.
The result is one pool that changes with the day rather than being committed to a single use or a single temperature.
Luxara is compact enough for spaces that cannot accommodate a conventional pool, and unexpectedly generous once you step inside.
It measures 21 feet long by 9 feet wide, with a vessel height of 54 inches. Inside, it provides approximately 19 feet 5 inches of open-water length, approximately 4 feet of water depth and approximately 3,300 US gallons of water.
The flat floor runs the full length of the pool. There is no shallow end, no deep end and no sloping transition — the depth you step into is the depth throughout.
Swim. Float. Play. Exercise. Gather. Cool off. Soak hot.
The open floor supports movement, games and exercise. Perimeter seating creates a social pool and a comfortable warm-water setting. Targeted massage jets provide relaxation without filling the pool with molded loungers. In summer, active cooling can lower the water temperature when conventional pools become uncomfortably warm.
Yes. Nearly 20 feet of unobstructed water gives Luxara the length and openness for self-propelled swimming, movement and exercise.
For swimmers who want continuous in-place training, an optional swim current can be specified. The current is an enhancement, not the identity of the pool. Luxara is fully useful with or without it.
Yes. Luxara was designed around open water rather than molded forms and an equipment compartment inside the vessel.
The machinery is located remotely and the seating is placed around the perimeter. That preserves the long central floor for swimming, games, exercise and people. The space feels like a pool because it is organized like one.
Luxara’s patent-pending structure makes the entire pool completely self-supporting.
The vessel, water load and architectural exterior are supported as one engineered product. Luxara does not depend on a surrounding retaining wall, deck or field-built frame to give the pool its strength.
This is more than a manufacturing advantage. It is the structural idea that allows Luxara to arrive complete, to stand confidently above grade, and to be placed on sites where building a pool in place would be slow, costly or impractical.
Luxara delivers the defining luxuries of a high-end plunge pool without asking the property to construct the pool itself.
The vessel, finished exterior, seating, cover system, circulation, filtration, lighting, temperature control and massage jets are engineered together before Luxara arrives. The property receives a complete pool rather than a long sequence of separate trades building one outdoors.
For suitable sites, that can mean less excavation, less disruption, a clearer budget and a much faster path to the water.
Luxara offers more open water, greater temperature flexibility and a finished architectural presence.
A typical swim spa devotes a substantial part of its footprint to molded seats and built-in machinery, and relies on a compact equipment bay, a small spa filter, resistance heating and a manual cover. Luxara moves full-size pool equipment away from the water, opens the interior, uses inverter heat-pump technology and closes with an integrated automatic cover.
The practical difference is that a swim spa is generally kept hot, because its heater cannot change temperature quickly enough to be anything else. Luxara can sit at swimming temperature and become a hot spa when you want one.
The luxuries that define Luxara are standard equipment.
The current Luxara includes the factory-finished fiberglass vessel and architectural exterior, integrated automatic cover, full-size pool circulation and cartridge filtration, 60,000 BTU inverter heat pump with heating and active cooling, remotely located equipment, smartphone control, lighting and twelve targeted massage jets.
Delivery, installation, entry module, optional swim current, high-output heating and site-specific work are quoted separately. The final sales specification governs each project.
Yes. Every current Luxara includes the integrated automatic cover.
The cover opens and closes from a dedicated line-of-sight control and disappears into the structure when open. There is no rolled cover left beside the pool and nothing to lift or store.
That ease matters. A cover conserves water and heat only when it is actually used, and consistent cover use also controls debris and keeps the installation visually resolved. Luxara turns opening and closing the pool into a natural part of everyday ownership rather than a chore.
Entry depends on how the pool is installed, and it is planned as part of the project rather than left to the owner.
Where Luxara is recessed or integrated into a deck, terrace or landscape, the surrounding surface can bring you to the water at a comfortable height and entry becomes part of the setting.
Where Luxara stands fully above grade, the installation requires an entry module. A standard range of entry modules is in development. Until it is released, Luxara entry modules are custom fabricated to suit the installation and the owner, at additional cost. Tell us how the pool will sit on the site and who will be using it, and entry will be designed into the plan from the beginning.
No. Luxara was designed as architecture, not as equipment disguised with plastic panels.
Its clean geometry, finished exterior, square detailing and low horizontal profile allow it to stand confidently above grade or become part of a terrace, deck or landscape. It is meant to belong beside the home, not merely occupy space near it.
Comfortable perimeter seating and twelve massage jets, without sacrificing the open center of the pool.
The seating supports conversation, relaxation and warm-water immersion. The jet positions deliver targeted massage where it is wanted, while the flat floor and open water remain available for every other way you use the pool.
The same variable-speed pump that circulates and filters the pool.
Luxara is not organized around jet and pump counts, and we do not present it as a jet-therapy product. Spas and swim spas typically use diverter valves and individually valved jets to concentrate a limited water volume into a few outlets, which is what makes high jet counts possible on paper.
We would rather be straightforward about where the benefit actually comes from. The bulk of the therapeutic effect of warm water is heat and buoyancy — full immersion in water at the temperature you want, for as long as you want. Luxara is built to deliver that first, with targeted massage as a genuine and useful addition rather than the headline.
Luxara moves the machinery away from the water, so the experience around the pool is defined by people and water rather than equipment.
The variable-speed circulation pump can operate efficiently at lower speeds for routine filtration, and the remote equipment layout allows pumps, filtration and heating equipment to be placed where sound and service access can be managed properly.
With recognizable, full-size pool equipment rather than filtration forced into a compact spa equipment bay.
Pool-style surface skimming, dedicated suction, a variable-speed pump and a large cartridge filter provide the circulation and filtration appropriate to a real pool. The equipment is accessible, serviceable and positioned outside the vessel.
Yes. Luxara is self-supporting and finished on the outside because above-grade installation is a deliberate design option, not a compromise.
It can stand on a suitable prepared surface, be partially recessed, or be integrated into a terrace, deck or landscape. The installation can respond to the property instead of forcing every site into the same construction method.
Yes. Luxara’s patent-pending self-supporting structure opens locations and grade conditions that normally demand substantial additional construction.
Where there is a grade differential, the high side of the Luxara structure can support the adjacent earth while the low side supports the pool and its water. The vessel does not require a separate retaining wall or supplemental structure on either side. On a structurally suitable penthouse terrace or balcony, Luxara can rest on its prepared bearing surface without being attached to the surrounding structure.
Every elevated or complex site still requires appropriate load, bearing, drainage and access review. The difference is that Luxara arrives with the structure of the pool already solved.
Yes, when the patio is level, structurally suitable and properly drained.
This can be the most direct installation path: prepare the services, place the pool, connect the equipment and complete the setting. The existing surface must be evaluated for the filled weight, and the project still requires suitable access and utilities.
Not necessarily. Many Luxara projects avoid conventional pool excavation entirely.
A suitable patio or prepared base may support an above-grade installation. Excavation may be used when the design calls for a new base, utility routes, drainage or partial recessing. The important difference is that digging serves the installation plan; it is not required to construct the pool itself.
Complete loading, bearing and dimensional information is provided on request for any project that needs it.
Most owners never need it. Structural engineers, architects, condominium boards and building officials frequently do, particularly for terraces, balconies, rooftops and elevated decks. We supply what your professionals ask for rather than leaving them to estimate.
As a working figure, a filled Luxara is approximately 30,000 pounds distributed across its footprint. Project-specific loading and bearing details are available directly from us.
Luxara arrives as a factory-finished pool and is lifted into position in one piece.
A crane or other suitable lifting equipment places it on the prepared base. Access, lifting conditions and the route to the final position are reviewed in advance. Plumbing, electrical and equipment connections are then completed and the system is commissioned.
Luxara simplifies the project, but it remains a permanent body of water and must be installed properly.
A project may require a supporting base, electrical service, plumbing connections, gas service for high-output heating, drainage, barrier compliance and local permits. Requirements vary by jurisdiction and property.
Luxara’s advantage is that these items can be defined around a complete factory-built product before work begins, rather than discovered while a pool is being constructed in the ground.
Barrier requirements are set locally and are confirmed for each project during planning.
Luxara is a permanent body of water and is subject to the same pool barrier, fencing and access rules as any other pool in your jurisdiction. Those requirements are identified as part of the installation plan. The integrated automatic cover is built to the appropriate ASTM F1346 Standard.
On a prepared site, Luxara installation can be completed in as little as one day.
The crane sets the finished pool in place, the remote equipment is connected to the pool and the prepared utilities, and the system is filled and commissioned.
The preparation happens before delivery. A new base, utility work, difficult access, partial recessing, decking or landscape integration may extend the overall project. What never happens is the property being asked to construct the vessel, finish the interior or assemble the pool outdoors.
Yes. Luxara gives you the temperature that suits the day instead of forcing the water into a single seasonal role.
The standard 60,000 BTU inverter heat pump provides efficient heating and active cooling. Swim comfortably, lower the water temperature during summer heat, or raise it for warm-water relaxation. High-output heating can be added for faster recovery and demanding cold-weather use.
Yes. That temperature freedom is one of the defining achievements of the design.
Luxara can be kept at a comfortable swimming temperature, used for play and exercise, then heated for a hot evening soak. Efficient routine heating handles everyday temperature management, and far greater heating capacity can be specified when rapid same-day temperature change matters to the way you intend to use the pool.
Considerably faster than a resistance-heated spa of comparable ambition.
The standard 60,000 BTU inverter heat pump provides more than three times the heating output of a typical 5.5 kW resistance heater, while using heat-pump technology for efficient routine operation. Where an owner wants rapid recovery in a freezing climate or a substantial same-day temperature increase, a 250,000 BTU or larger gas heater provides more than thirteen times that typical output.
Actual time depends on starting and target temperatures, weather and the installed heating package. The point of the engineering is that temperature change can be part of how you use the pool rather than a reason you cannot.
Yes. High-output gas heating is available when the owner wants faster temperature change or stronger performance in freezing weather.
The gas heater works as added capacity rather than as a replacement for the standard inverter heat pump. The combination allows efficient routine temperature management with powerful recovery when speed matters.
Yes. Luxara can be configured for true cold-weather enjoyment, not merely extended shoulder-season use.
A freezing-climate installation brings together the integrated cover, insulated structure, protected plumbing, appropriate equipment placement, freeze protection and heating capacity selected for the intended use. High-output gas heating supports rapid recovery when the standard heat pump alone is not the right tool for the coldest conditions.
Yes. Owners can choose year-round operation or a seasonal winterization plan appropriate to the climate and equipment configuration.
A professional winterization protects the plumbing and equipment when the pool will not be maintained through freezing conditions.
Less than its water volume alone would suggest, because volume is not what drives the bill.
Luxara begins by controlling the greatest source of water and heat loss: evaporation from the open surface. The standard automatic cover is easy enough to use that closing the pool becomes routine, retaining heat, reducing replacement water and lowering chemical demand.
After conserving the heat already in the water, the inverter heat pump can deliver several units of heat for each unit of electricity consumed. The insulated structure and variable-speed circulation reduce the remaining energy demand. And because Luxara can sit at an efficient swimming temperature rather than being held hot year-round, the baseline it operates from is lower.
Heating technology, water temperature, cover use, circulation settings and actual use matter far more than gallons. Energy use varies with climate, settings and utility rates, and we are happy to discuss realistic expectations for your climate and intended use.
It starts with the most effective conservation measure available to a heated pool: cover the water whenever it is not in use, and make doing so effortless.
Evaporation carries away both water and the energy used to heat it. The integrated automatic cover opens and closes in moments, then disappears into the structure. Unlike a bulky manual cover, it is practical for daily use, so the pool retains more heat and water while requiring less replacement water and treatment chemistry.
California’s energy standards already require a cover on outdoor pools and spas heated by heat-pump or gas equipment. Luxara makes the automatic cover standard rather than optional. Once heat and water loss are controlled, the inverter heat pump and variable-speed circulation reduce the energy required to manage temperature and filtration.
The environmental story begins by keeping water in the pool and heat in the water.
The standard automatic cover reduces evaporation, heat loss, replacement water and chemical demand every time the pool is closed. Efficient heat-pump heating and variable-speed circulation then reduce the energy needed to operate the pool.
Factory construction limits prolonged site disruption, and the self-supporting structure can eliminate excavation, retaining walls and other site-built works on suitable properties. One durable pool can replace the need for separate swimming, cooling and hot-water products.
No. Luxara uses familiar pool-care principles and full-size equipment that pool professionals already understand.
Routine ownership includes maintaining water chemistry, emptying baskets, cleaning the cartridge filter, keeping the water and cover clear of debris, and following the seasonal care appropriate to the climate. Smartphone control makes routine monitoring and adjustment more convenient.
Luxara accepts the standard water treatment programs, and its chemistry is generally easier to manage than a spa or swim spa.
Two things work in your favor. The first is volume. At approximately 3,300 gallons, Luxara holds roughly eight to ten times the water of a typical spa and about double many swim spas, so on a comparable-use basis the bather load per gallon is substantially lower. Dilution is a real advantage, and it is one that small vessels simply cannot offer.
The second is temperature. Sanitizer is consumed and water chemistry destabilizes much faster at hot-spa temperature. Because Luxara spends most of its time at a cooler swimming temperature and is heated on demand, it avoids the constant high-temperature operation that makes spa chemistry demanding.
The result is water care that behaves like pool water care, using the treatment program you and your pool professional prefer.
Closing the cover keeps more debris out, reduces evaporation and helps the water retain both heat and treatment chemistry.
Rain or melted snow that collects on top of the cover must be removed with the included cover pump before the cover is opened. In a snowy climate, accumulation should be managed as part of normal winter ownership.
Luxara was engineered to be serviceable, not disposable.
The pumps, filter, heating equipment and controls are located outside the vessel where technicians can reach them. Luxara uses recognizable pool equipment and standard service principles instead of burying every component inside a proprietary cabinet at the water’s edge.
Routine care is straightforward pool ownership, not a proprietary service program.
Owners can test and balance the water, empty baskets, clean the cartridge filter and manage normal seasonal care themselves. Those who prefer professional maintenance can use any established pool-service company.
Mechanical service should be performed by qualified technicians familiar with pumps, cartridge filtration, heat pumps, gas heaters and automatic covers. Project-specific components and warranty procedures are identified during handover.
Reliability begins with sound engineering: a factory-built fiberglass vessel, accessible mechanical systems and equipment selected for pool duty.
Factory construction allows the structure and integrated systems to be produced under controlled conditions. Remote equipment access makes inspection, maintenance and future replacement more straightforward, helping the pool remain useful long after the original installation.
Luxara provides limited lifetime structural coverage on the fiberglass vessel for the original residential owner, 10-year coverage on the structural support system, 5-year surface coverage, 3-year factory-plumbing coverage, and separate coverage for the integrated automatic-cover system. Branded pool equipment carries the applicable manufacturer’s warranty.
Every Luxara project concludes with commissioning and an owner handover.
The handover covers controls, water care, filtration, heating, cooling, cover operation and seasonal responsibilities. The project team also identifies the relevant equipment documentation, warranty coverage and service contacts for the completed installation.
Luxara starts at US$48,000, with the features that define the experience already included.
Delivery, installation, entry module, optional swim current, high-output heating and site-specific requirements are quoted separately. The difference between projects is visible in the property work rather than hidden in a stripped-down base product.
Most installations land somewhere between a few thousand dollars and roughly $10 to 12K.
The low end of that range is a straightforward placement on a suitable existing surface with services close at hand. The upper end reflects a new engineered base, longer utility runs, more demanding crane access or partial recessing.
Beyond that range sit the choices that are really landscape and architecture rather than pool installation — extensive decking, terrace construction, significant grade work or full landscape integration. Those are scoped and priced with you, and they are yours to decide.
Every site is different, and the only honest way to answer this question for your property is to look at it. Tell us about the site and we will give you a real number rather than a range.
Luxara competes directly with premium swim spas and delivers considerably more pool for the investment.
Many premium swim spas and modular current pools reach or exceed Luxara’s starting price. On the simplest sites, installed cost can be similar. Where the pool is partially or mostly recessed, Luxara’s self-supporting structure avoids much of the site-built pool work and becomes materially more economical. The Luxara Architectural Spa Pool answers with nearly 20 feet of open water, a self-supporting architectural structure, a finished exterior, full-size remote pool equipment, efficient heating and active cooling, twelve massage jets and an integrated automatic cover.
Against a custom pool, the comparison is equally strong. An automatic cover, active cooling, rapid heating, and a finished architectural structure are normally found only in high-end builds, and usually priced as separate upgrades. Luxara engineers them into one factory-finished product that can swim, play, cool and soak hot.
